For a second year Les’s Fund - Lacrosse Fans Fighting Cancer, the players of the National Lacrosse League and the National Lacrosse League (NLL) , proudly present “Pledge a Player 2008"

The lacrosse fan community’s cancer-fighting tradition continues with Pledge a Player 2008. Just click on the Pledge a Player link and you will be able to pledge money directly towards cancer charities in your area and across the National Lacrosse League, based on your favourite NLL player’s or team’s performance.

We’ve added an exciting new  feature! We're league wide!!! Now, you can now pick multiple players, multiple teams to pledge and multiple charities to give to. Lastly, so you don't get yourself too deep you and identify a maximum pledge.

Here’s an example of how it works...

  • Let's say you pledge $1 to your chosen local charity for every goal your favourite player will score in the regular season.
  • He scores 40 regular-season goals.
  • At the end of the regular season, you send a cheque for $40 directly to your chosen charity.

All Les’s Fund-Lacrosse Fan's Fighting Cancer asks is that you acknowledge your donation is being made as a result of your NLL team and Les’s Fund- Lacrosse Fans Fighting Cancer Pledge a Player program. Once you’ve sent in your donation directly to your charity you will then receive a tax receipt for your full donation amount directly from your chosen charity.

Through Pledge a Player you can show your support for your favourite National Lacrosse League player or team and fight cancer in your area and across North America at the same time!

What is Les's Fund?

Les’s Fund-Lacrosse Fans Fighting Cancer is recognized as the National Lacrosse League’s   official cancer fighter by all NLL teams, and its players. Les’s Fund is a fan organized, grass roots, non-profit movement created to promote cancer awareness, and aid in the fight against cancer across the lacrosse and greater community.

Les’s Fund is named after Les Bartley the Toronto Rock’s Hall of Fame and 5 time Champion Lacrosse coach and general manager. Les lent his name and support to fans efforts to raise money to fight cancer. Les left us on May 15th 2005, since that time the fan’s of the NLL and it’s teams have carried the torch in the fight against cancer with pride and remembrance.
